Here We Go

This is my attempt to journal and let others in on what adventures I am currently experiencing. Not sure where this will take me, but I look forward to hearing from others as they read and as they tell me of their adventures. I guess this is one more way of doing life together. Well let the adventure begin.......

Another Day Closer

This beautiful young lady is my daughter Kass. I am continually amazed at how grown up she is. She is so excited about the upcoming trip. There is still much to do before we leave. Bags to pack, knick-knacks to buy, malaria pills to take, not mention 4 ballgames to play in. Not enough time to sit and rest.
Next week is my favorite week of the year. The Passion Week. To think that Jesus was so passionate about me that He would step into my world and show me what it is to love. Philippians 2 is my favorite chapter in all of scripture. The ultimate display of what it is to be a barbarian. To do what no one had done or will ever do again. To bridge a gap that only he could bridge. To give up his live that I might know life, what passion. I long to have the same kind of passion for him, as well as others. To understand what he meant when the scripture says, "that now he should them the full extent of his love for them." He came to show us what it is to passionately serve others. To have his mind.
I believe that is why I love Honduras and its people so much. Their first thought is to serve. To give. To love. All unconditionally. Even though they are poor in the material, they teach me every time what it is to be rich in the spirit. That is what I pray for Kass. That she will realize how blessed she is, but at the same time see in the Hondurans something that is missing and begin a search. Like the tracks that she is standing on I pray that the trax that she begins over the next few weeks will lead her into a deeper relationship with the one who, "being in the very nature God did not consider equality with God something to be grasp, but made himself nothing." May your relationship grow deeper as you track on. Be blessed barbarians!!!
